If you’re a freshman, then your jobs this month are:
Review Final Grades: Check your final grades and make note of any subjects where you might need additional review over the summer to stay on top of things.
Summer Reading: Complete any required summer reading assignments for your upcoming courses as early as possible. Just get it out of the way so that you can fully enjoy your break. It’s a good idea to do a quick review before classes resume in the fall! At the very least, create a reading/review schedule now and stick with it.
Reflect on Study Skills: While things are fresh, consider what worked for you this past school year and what didn’t. What can you do differently in the fall to stay on top of things better?
Explore Interests: Try new activities or hobbies to discover what you enjoy. Join a summer camp, sports team, or community group to meet new friends and develop skills.
Volunteer: Find local volunteer opportunities to gain experience and give back to your community. Don’t forget to document your volunteer hours and reflect on what you learn from the experience.
